Storied Sports recently caught up with the hardest working elephant in the WNBA. The style icon and Liberty mascot was taking a breather during the FIBA break and got serious with us about her job, her ambition and breaking barriers.
SS: If you could do a half-time performance with anyone in the world, who would it be?
Ellie: This is nearly impossible to answer because there’s so many wonderful ladies that have inspired me by the way they command the stage! But if I had to choose, anyone that I have already paid homage to though my halftime performances would be an honor to perform with.
SS: You’ve conquered the court. Any ambitions off the court?
Ellie: Thank you! I've coined this term "ELLIE-Vate" and people think I'm just being witty with my words but to me this term is all about doing what’s never been done before! Bridging unconventional industries, I am a multifaceted elephant when it comes to my talents, so I have ambitions across film, television, tech, publishing, beauty, music, and fashion.
SS: Where do you see yourself in five years? Broadway? Fashion Week? Movies? Running for office?
Ellie: In five years, I will have the same heart and same gratitude, but my team will GROW. I see myself continuing to break barriers as the first mascot to show up in non-traditional spaces. Whether it be in pop culture or on billboards just know, it will be ICONIC and INNOVATIVE!
