There's a new rule worth knowing: if a game ends in a tie, it goes straight to a shootout. No extra time, just penalty kicks. The winning team walks away with 2 points and the loser gets 1. I've been advocating for this rule change in the NWSL for years, because nobody wants to see a tie! It's the ultimate buzz-kill in sports, especially when you spend $25 on a fake chicken sandwich after sitting in traffic for an hour. Yes, I live in LA.
