Foley's Take 6

🏀 I was at the Sparks-Liberty game this past Sunday night when the WNBA celebrated its 30th season, the same matchup that started it all on June 21, 1997. Five members of the original Liberty team were in the building. Lisa Leslie gave a speech that I’ll watch on a loop for years. And then Nneka Ogwumike, president of the Players Association, the woman who went to the bargaining table and didn't leave until the players got what they were worth, hit the game-winner. As Lisa Leslie said, you can't have the future without the foundation. Sunday night had both in the same building and it was magical to see all of them get their flowers. Yes, I cried the entire time.

The action continues with the Commissioner's Cup Championship at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Tuesday June 30th, 7pm ET on Prime Video. A'ja versus Stewie. Liberty versus the Aces. $500K and bragging rights on the line. I love the WNBA.

🏌🏻‍♀️ The KPMG Women's PGA Championship tees off Thursday at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota, with the largest purse in women's golf history. And by purse, I mean $13 million, not an insanely large handbag. Will Nelly Korda win her third straight major, or is someone going to step up and steal her thunder? Watch Thursday through Sunday on Golf Channel, NBC and Peacock.

⚽️ The World Cup has been a blast, but it's ladies night and the feeling's right, oh yes it's ladies night, what a night. It’s the NWSL Challenge Cup — Gotham FC, the reigning NWSL champions, take on the Kansas City Current, who won last year's Shield with the best record in the league. First trophy of 2026 on the line. Friday June 26th, 8pm ET on Prime Video.
