Foley's Take: Week of 08/10/26

đŸ„Ž I'll see your All-Star Game and raise you an All-Star Cup. That's the move AUSL made this month: instead of a one-off game, they built an entire month-long event out of it. The All-Star Cup runs through August in Rosemont, Illinois, taking 45 of the league's best players and running them through four straight weeks of their signature format. Teams are redrafted every series, players rack up individual points while everyone is gunning for the crown. This weekend is series two, and the star power is off the charts. I’m talking Montana Fouts, Maya Brady, Keilani Ricketts, Karlyn Pickens, Reese Atwood
and that's just scratching the surface. Games: Friday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network, Saturday at noon ET on ESPN, and Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on MLB Network. LFG!

đŸ„ Put the champagne on ice, Philly, because this Saturday is the Women's Lacrosse League final and it features the two best teams in the league: the Maryland Charm and California Palms. Their only meeting this season was an 18-17 thriller, so please, universe, give me another one of those edge-of-my-seat humdingers. The field is stacked with some of the biggest names in the sport: Sam Apuzzo, Ally Kennedy and Brigid Duffy leading the charge for Maryland, with Ally Mastroianni, Marie McCool and superstar goalie Taylor Moreno holding it down for California. The inaugural championship kicks off Saturday, Aug. 15 at 5 p.m. ET from Subaru Park, live on ESPN.

🏐 đŸŽ¶ Oh Canada, you're going down this weekend. đŸŽ¶ Team USA is back on home soil to face Canada, who swept them in June for their first-ever VNL win over the U.S. This rematch comes with a loaded Team USA roster featuring six 2024 Olympians: Avery Skinner, Jordan Thompson, Jordyn Poulter, Micha Hancock, Dana Rettke and Chiaka Ogbogu. Match one is Saturday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. PT in San Diego, followed by Sunday at 7 p.m. PT in Irvine. USA Volleyball hasn't announced a TV or streaming outlet for the series yet, so keep an eye on usavolleyball.org/events for updates.
